Submissions

Contemporary Literature seeks scholarly essays on post-World War II literature which offer scope, supply a new dimension to conventional approaches, or transform customary ways of reading writers.

Style

We prefer a length of 25-35 pages, normal-size type, double-spaced throughout.

Procedures

Manuscripts may be submitted electronically via email or in hard copy.

The editors cannot review manuscripts that are simultaneously under consideration elsewhere and cannot assume responsibility for loss or damage of any work submitted. All details should conform to those recommended by the most recent edition of the MLA Handbook.

Please put identifying information such as name or institutional affiliation only in the cover letter; include full contact information in the cover letter.

Review

Manuscripts may be submitted at any time; the review process generally takes 4-6 months.

Hard copies of manuscripts are returned only if accompanied by a self-addressed envelope with sufficient first-class postage.
